A chat with Some Bizzare Supremo Stevo Pearce

Stevo Pearce

Often overlooked by mainstream media Stevo is the man who brought us the Some Bizzare record label. Pushing boundaries with some artists and producing perfect pop music with others. From the industrial sound of Einstürzende Neubauten to the chart toppers Soft Cell Stevo chats to Carl about the music and what he looked for in an artist.

The Some Bizzare Sampler cassette released in 1981 featured Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Blancmange and The The. Never one to shy away from controversy Stevo doesn’t pull any punches about the state of the music industry. Now producing art in his own right Stevo is back also collaborating with new singers and songwriters over 40 years after he broke the corporate mould of what was expected of a record company.
